第十五届创新英语大赛 Laziness or lack of ambition is like dead weight on our chests. All it takes is one big push and we’re free, but that “big push” is not always easy to muster because the effort seems a lot more difficult than it actually is. The situation is similar to trying to get out of bed as soon as we awaken from a long sleep. Write an essay with no less than 300 words.

These statements suggest the idea that we will be able to free ourselves from laziness or lack of ambition with one big push that is sometimes difficult to muster. I agree with this statement and will explain my reasons in this essay.

Do you want to be successful? Do you want to live a better life? It is obvious that no one wants end in failure. but as we know, there are many people who can’t realize their dreams or become what they want to be. Why? I think there are two main reasons.

The first one is lack of ambition. Ambition is manifest as motivation and a driving force that pushes you to take action and persue goals. Success starts with ambitions. but it often happens that you have the interest but you lack the ambition or motivation. How frustrating it is! Since you want to do a certain thing but can’t get enough inner strength and motivation to act. There are many reasons for lack of ambition. Maybe you lack of faith in your abilities or you are afraid of failure. No matter what reason it is, I think it is just an excuse for not acting. You must find out the reason and a way to motivate yourself. Only in this way can you put yourself forward.

The other reason is laziness. It is a great enemy to success. If you wish to improve your life, and you have already had an ambition, but the lack of diligence or laziness will make you result in failure. Einstein said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” What not come singly but in pairs is Edison said “ None of my invitations came by accident. I see a worthwhile need to be met and I make trial after trial until it comes.” None of the notable men are lazy bones.

Once you have the ambition, diligence becomes the other necessity. If you desire to succeed, you can’t make it without either of them. Start with the little and everyday affairs of life to overcome lack of ambition and laziness. Little by little , and you can achieve what you want.
